PHOTOS: Dominican Republic, Casa de Campo Resort

I was extremely fortunate to tag along with Glenn on a work trip to Casa de Campo Resort & Villas in the Dominican Republic. This resort was more luxurious than anything I would normally stay at on my own dime. Not only was our villa incredible (bidet, need I say more), there were also three golf courses, a beach with the clearest water I’ve ever seen, horseback riding and so much more. We even saw a few celebrities and one former British Prime Minister. I feel like I can’t give you a full review of the resort because we were with a larger group and had a set schedule of events but I thought you all might like to see some of the photos from our week.

Isla Catalina

We took a ferry over to Isla Catalina, an island just off shore from Casa de Campo. I’ve never seen clearer water. Snorkeling was amazing and everyone left with sunburns from standing in the water for hours.

Cooking Class at Altos de Chavon

Altos de Chavon is a re-creation of a 16th century Mediterranean–style village within the resort. We took a cooking class and learned how to make authentic Dominican dishes. The tres leches was definitely my favorite!

Dining

Tuna Carpaccio
I couldn’t decide at the salad bar so I got one of everything.

Activities

There are three golf courses at Casa de Campo. Glenn golfed Teeth of the Dog, the #1 course in the Caribbean. It gets its name from the jagged rocks along the coastline.

Night golf at the driving range
My first time riding a horse!

And because I was a bad blogger and didn’t take as many photos as I would’ve liked, cue the video montage!

  1. I was going to say “trip of a lifetime” but I’m pretty sure you have many more trips in your future. Beautiful pictures. Looks like a great place to visit.
