Exploring Texas | What I’ve been up to lately

Hi friends! It’s been a while since I’ve shared my adventures and now that I’m just about settled into my new home here in Texas I think it’s time for an update! On top of recent travels to Miami, Michigan and the Dominican Republic, Glenn and I have started to explore the Dallas area. Here’s some of the highlights of our time in Texas so far!

Plano Hot Air Balloon Festival

I. Love. Hot Air Balloons. And so far I haven’t had any luck with attending a balloon festival where they actually fly. This held true at the Plano Balloon Festival, but I was still happy to see them blown up on the ground.

Dallas Eats

If you know me, you know I love to eat out. We’ve already found some amazing restaurants around Dallas and these are only a few of my favorite dishes so far!

  1. Sushi from Tower Club Dallas
  2. Acai Bowl from Juiceland
  3. Oysters from Hook Line & Sinker
  4. Tuna Pizza from Shinsei Restaurant

University of Texas Football Game in Austin

Austin is just a 3-hour drive south of Dallas. We drove down for a weekend to watch Glenn’s alma mater West Virginia University take on the Longhorns.

Texas State Fair

Despite what every Minnesotan told us while we were up there, Texas actually has the largest State Fair. (Don’t come for me, Minnesotans!) We ate the original corndog and saw lots of cute baby animals.

I’m already loving it down here and looking forward to my first winter in the south!

  1. Dallas looks like an amazing place to explore, Casey! I love hot air balloons too but never had a chance to see them in real life, it must have been a memorable experience. Thanks for sharing and have a good day :) Aiva xx
