Get lost in Las Vegas with me

Anyone that has been to Las Vegas knows that two days in Vegas is plenty. It’s adult Disneyland and there is 24/7 access to entertainment but it doesn’t take long to run out of money or energy. That said, I freaking love Las Vegas and when my boyfriend Glenn got the opportunity to travel to Vegas for work, there was no way I was letting him go without me.

I spent two days getting lost inside casinos. Once you go in, they make it impossible to find the exit. I walked miles and miles every day, all the while on constant lookout for the Sex and the City slot machines.

We stayed at The Linq, which I hadn’t been to before. It was definitely the worst hotel room I’ve ever had in Vegas, but I wasn’t paying for it so beggars can’t be choosers and I didn’t spend much time there anyway.

The stunning view.

I did however spend some time at the rooftop pool in The Linq. It’s called “Influence” and they market it as this super hip and exclusive pool party. During the day it was pretty casual but that could be because I was there on a Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Garden is one of my favorite spots in Vegas and the theme when we visited was hot air balloons which are also one of my favorite things. Check out these beautiful flowers!

On the first night, we had dinner at Battista’s Hole in the Wall. I almost don’t want to promote it because I don’t want to have to wait for a table in the future but I don’t think all 10 of my readers will flock there at the same time. Battista’s is OG Las Vegas. It’s a block off of the strip and has a super cool and authentic Italian atmosphere. Every meal comes with free house wine, soup/salad, bread and hot chocolate. If that’s something you’re into, you’re almost guaranteed a good experienced!

On our final night, we scored some invites to a party at Drai’s Nightclub in The Cromwell. It’s a rooftop club that overlooks the Strip and has a pool and a stage for musical acts. We enjoyed the tunes of my college days when the rapper T-Pain performed. It was the coolest party I’ve ever been to!

After staying out way too late at the party, we got about 2 hours of sleep before heading to the airport to fly back to chilly Minnesota. I’m still recovering as I write this and I’d say that’s a sign of a successful trip to Las Vegas!

  1. Las Vegas. Just mentioning the name of the city conjures a mental picture of bright neon lights, huge hotels and countless casinos. While I prefer the outdoors to big cities, I would love to visit Las Vegas. There was a time in my life when I was pretty obsessed with CSI Las Vegas and therefore, I would love to visit some of its filming locations (yes, I know that the show was mainly filmed in Santa Clarita for its first five seasons, but as a real fan, I would be able to find something :) ) Thanks for sharing and have a good day :) Aiva xx

  2. Loving those Hot Air Balloons!
Not sure Las Vegas is for me ( though my other half has been and I know someone who got married there! ) but it looked like you had a fantastic time. X

  3. Vegas is definitely exhausting but fun haha! I know my appreciation of it has grown in recent years. I mean, so many more vegan options compared to the past um yes please!

I just came back from a Vegas trip myself and wrote about the observations I’ve seen since 2015, as well as some tips! (https://secondgendesi.com/vegas/)
