Savannah, the oldest city in Georgia, is located on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean and just across the Savannah River from South Carolina. My boyfriend Glenn and I have been staying in Beaufort, SC and decided to drive 45 minutes down to Savannah for the day. This was my first time in Savannah and I had no idea what to expect. We spent the day walking around the Riverfront and Historic District. There was so much history to take in from the first settlers to the Revolutionary War from the Civil War to Forrest Gump. We don’t get American history like that up in Minnesota.
