The Wanderlust Tag | Suitcasey

I’ve seen the Wanderlust Tag going around on YouTube and I thought it would be fun to do!

I’m still working on the final Girls in Europe post about Copenhagen but until then…

1. Your most treasured passport stamp?
I treasure them all but it would probably be my first stamp. When I entered the United Kingdom for a summer study abroad program.

2. Can you recite your passport # from memory if asked?
Absolutely not. I’m ashamed to admit that I can’t even recite my driver’s license number. Oops.

3. Preferred method of travel; planes, trains or automobiles?

I love flying! Mostly because I really love airports. I like that they are never closed, there’s always people to watch, food to eat and you’re always about to go somewhere.

4. Top 3 travel items?
Comfy Shoes: If walking to my destination is an option, I’ll hoof it every time.

Map: Just put a map in my hand and I can take on any city.

Voltage Converter: Gotta charge all of those portable devices! Camera, phone, lap top, etc… And if you want to look presentable in your pictures you’ll need to be able to use your straightener/curling iron.

5. Hostel or hotel?Hotel Shadow
I have actually never stayed in a hostel, so hotels.  I can usually find affordable hotels, they’re even cheaper when split between two or three people.  I like having my own space to shower and nap. If breakfast is included I will be a happy traveler!

6. Are you a repeat visitor or do you explore new places?
Bring on the new places. But if I end up in a place I’ve been before I always try to do or see something that I didn’t the first time.

7. Do you read up on your destination (culture, history, safety) or do you wing it?

I plan obsessively – I like to know as much as possible before I arrive in a foreign place.  I’ll be a lot more relaxed if I have an idea of the culture I’m entering.

8. Favorite travel website?
Tripadvisor all the way! Reviews from other travelers are tremendously helpful.

9. Where would you recommend a friend to visit? Name city & why.
I would recommend Edinburgh, Scotland. You can walk everywhere. The history and architecture are amazing. The pubs are perfection. The people are all extremely nice and they speak English, though sometimes with their strong accents they might as well be speaking Chinese.

10. You’re leaving tomorrow, money is no option, where are you going?

I’m dead set on my next trip being to South Africa! I’ve been to Europe a number of times and I’m ready to take on a different continent.

I tag all of you! Leave a response in the comments or post the link to your answers, I’d love to hear about your wanderlust!
